Hello, there! I'm Elk Paauw (he/him/his), sailor cum nomadic comics artist and queer transdude. I’m a PhD candidate at the University of Western Ontario in Theory and Criticism, where my thesis research is in the form of a comic and touches on issues of the subject through time as portrayed in trans graphica.
I also moonlight as an adjunct professor at Fanshawe College and Western University teaching film and trans studies.
In another life, I performed as half of the cartoon band Spooky Action, and was host/curator of the monthly international animated children's film series called Saturday Morning Cartoons at SIFF Cinema Uptown. I got my master's degree in Visual and Critical Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where I wrote my thesis on the philosophy of time (read at 4dtime.space).
